The backstory. Carol and Dave love bagels and one day Carol mentioned, “You know, I’m going to create a new blend based on the seasoning that top bagels.” A great idea! So, to surprise Carol, Dave did a search for fresh bagels and brought in hundreds of them. Next he instructed the Salt Table staff of food artisans to carefully remove and save all the pieces on each bagel. Salt, garlic, onion pieces, poppy seeds, and sesame seeds. So, they went at it until each bagel was smooth! Dave further reasoned that we could add another new Salt Table product. He would name it,‘The Bagel and nothing else’. (Honestly, people just didn’t get it!)
Anyway, let’s just say that when Carol got wind of Dave’s “surprise”, she quickly came up with her own recipe and we can report that the staff is much happier hand-blending these all natural ingredients, like every other Salt Table blend. And, by the way, we’re also happy to report that our customers love it. Carol’s version is perfect for chicken, fish, soups, salads, Mac & Cheese, spreads, on potatoes, on veggies, and even popcorn! You name it! That snap, crunch and salty nutty flavor adds a special touch to almost any dish.
This is our version of the “Everything” blend – versatile and fun. Here’s some additional ideas … use it to spruce up casseroles, tuna salad, deviled eggs, fried rice, guacamole, and french fries! Perfect for home baked bread … or, even on a bagel. Just leave it on the counter in the kitchen and see what it can do for just about anything.
